BNCT Treatment Process
If you wish to undergo BNCT, the first step is to contact a medical tourism agent and consult an oncologist at our hospital. You will then sign a consent form, complete screening tests, and go through other assessments required for this treatment, such as blood tests and cancer staging. At least one week is needed to complete preparatory CT scans. Based on those scans, we will create several tentative treatment plans. The radiation dosage will be calculated based on the best treatment plan. A treatment rehearsal will be conducted the day before the actual treatment to make minor revisions. The boron compound will be administered on the day of your BNCT session, and several blood samples will be taken before and after irradiation. In most cases, you will be able to leave the hospital the day after your session.
